New Year, New Name!

It’s that time of year again! We’ve all said it (or at least thought it!) once in our lifetime; new year, new me!

Well, I hate to burst anyone’s bubble but one day is not going to change you. However, it is a worthy time for self reflection, learning and growth.

One thing I do love about the new year arriving is that I make it a priority to reflect on the year that has just past, including all the failures, successes and challenges. This makes us accountable to ourselves. I’m a firm believer in personal growth and this is exactly why I make lists of goals and dreams! They may not happen but it’s worth getting your ideas out of your head…because who knows, they may happen!

I’ve been reminiscing about the year past, and it’s been a great year. I love my new job, I’ve been lucky enough to travel and I moved in with the love of my life. There were some disappointments, and I didn’t do as much with this blog as I had hoped, but all in all, I feel so lucky to be living the life I am, and I can’t wait to make it even better!

My first line of business was to change the name of this blog. It still has all the same elements but minimalism to me is so much more than having few material things. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a way of being and thinking.

So, to make myself accountable, I’m putting my top 3 goals out there in the blog world.

2018 Goals

  1. Be present. It’s so easy to get lost in the go-go-go lifestyle of a big city. Life is happening, we need to be witness to it and experience everything!
  2. Breath. A few years ago yoga and breathing became a big part of my life. By concentrating on my breath and being mindful, anxiety has been thrown out the door!
  3. Learn. I have so much to learn. 2017 was definitely a year of learning for me. I can’t wait to learn more, including becoming a better counsellor, learning from people’s stories and learning from travel.

Here’s to a great year of adventures, learning, peace and understanding! Let’s do better than we did before and continue to grow.

Happy New Year, everyone!
